At some point after they have been informed of the threat against them, (not sure if they are under the Fidelius yet), Merlin appears on their doorstep, and convinces them to name him as their kid’s guardian should they be killed. (And I don’t know what the explanation was for how/why Merlin was wandering around alive.) The baby, by convergence of James and Lily’s lines is the future queen of the wizarding world. I think Merlin explains this to the Potters as part of the reason to make him the guardian. Merlin shows up almost as soon as the Potters dietherefore no Hagrid taking the toddler out of Sirius’ arms. Merlin immediately has the will checked and is given legal custody before Dumbledore has a chance to get control of the child. I think by acting quickly Merlin gathers several Potter adjacent people (Sirius, maybe Remus, and the Longbottoms) before anything unpleasant happens to them and the group of them get behind wards to raise the child together. Not sure where it goes from there, or even if it continues past that point. It likely was a WIP that was abandoned. ( Comment on this ) Saturday, April 20th, 2024 9:50 pm [ maiten001 ] Servant/apprentice Harry for Snape (non sexual) I read a fanfiction where Harry became a servant/apprentice to Snape. I think it was to keep him safe or something. It was a spell/ritual that did it I think. I also think Dumbledore was involved in it. Because of it Harry was unable to disobey Snape. A specific scene I remember is that in potions class Snape demands something like a perfect potion or something. Because of the spell/ritual Harry cannot disobey him and starts to work incredibly hard. Snape apologizes and promises to be more careful with his wording. I don’t remember anything else. It was not in any way sexual as far as I recall. Anyone know this fic? I am very curious to read it again, but I just cannot find it. Thanks! Looking for a fic where Lupin asks Harry to open the boggart cupboard so the 7th years can practice the patronus on the dementor/boggart. All I remember is that he kept everything a secret until baby Harry was born, then he told the Marauder’s and Lily that he was actually James and Lily’s son from the future. Also, baby Harry was named after time travel Harry, due to Harry saving everyone from Voldemort. I think it starts in the Marauder’s 7th year at Hogwarts, but I’m not sure. Any help is appreciated. It’s a non-magical community, so Snape introduces himself as an herbalist/healer and Harry as his servant/apprentice. They eventually form a relationship and spend a long time just enjoying their life together. After a few years they figure out how to return to their own time and do so towards the end of the fic. The fic is most likely on AO3, and I think it was fairly long.
